Information for Osteopaths re advert in iO/Osteopath magazines.

Hi fellow osteopath.

I thought I would just let you know a few other things about myself that may be of interest just in case  you were thinking about contacting me.

I am mid 50’s. Fit. I swim twice a week and run 1-2 times a week. Tho… I would prefer to be walking in / around / up some mountains or along the coast – who in their right mind wouldn’t!

This is why I’d like to find somewhere else to live. I do like city life. I love the live music, theatres, pubs, cinemas etc etc but I am frustrated at being 2.5 – 3 hrs from N Wales / Snowdonia ditto S Wales and Mid Wales ( coasts ). The Lake District is just as far. In the past I have made more of an effort to get out of the city ( 4-8 times / yr ) but it seems easier to be lazier as I get older and that’s  frustrating me.

I’d like to work in a town that is big enough for a few pubs ( a Wetherspoons would be good! ) plus a local music scene – I play guitar and sing ( blues / folk / country / rock if you’re interested ) and would like to maybe get to know some of the local community by meeting other musicians. I did start learning kite surfing  2 years ago and it is my ambition to be able to do this competently. A local swimming pool would be great. I love reading and using the internet so I am happy to rest n relax at home also.

Other wishes would be an area where its not too expensive to rent a small house OR be part of a friendly house share.

Work wise… ( very important also!!! ) I am very happy treating 25-30 people per week. I am not a workaholic but I don’t mind hard work. In fact I like it – it makes relaxing more pleasurable.

Ideally I’d like to work 3 busy-ish days a week. Four at a push. I don’t mind sharing a Saturday slot e.g one in 4 weeks. I do like regular holidays. I have a girlfriend in Paris wh0 I visit 4 times a year. She comes over here twice. To me a healthy work/life balance is ESSENTIAL.

I know there are a lot of boxes that need to be ticked here. Maybe I am chasing an impossible dream but… if I don’t try to look for this new ideal life I will never find it.

Obviously, if I can’t find something which makes me think “ Wow. That sounds good.” I will just stay where I am and maybe look around / advertise again in 6-12 months time.

So, there you have it. Ah, one last thing, if you were thinking “ hmmm, mid 50’s, only 22 years experience… what did he do beforehand?” well, I was a geologist and worked 8-9 years on oil rigs on the N Sea, China Sea and Mid East plus did 2 years gold exploration in Western Australia.

I changed jobs as I was fed up working in the middle of seas or deserts. Also, you would not believe what some of my co-workers were like – buy me a pint and I’ll tell you about them !!

That’s me done. I do not expect many people to read this but… who knows, maybe the ideal job does exist. Here’s hoping.

Thank you for reading and I wish you a happy, healthy and positive life.

Best regards

Jonathan.
